What to check after changing product prices or variants

Compare the intended offer with the selected variant on the storefront before treating the update as complete.

Start with one identifiable variant

A product page can contain several sizes, colours and prices. Record the SKU or variant identifier, selected options, market, currency and capture time. A comparison that changes any of those conditions can describe two different offers rather than a defect.

Separate the available sources

Google describes product structured data and Merchant Center feeds as ways to supply product information. Its guidance also covers variant markup. Those sources can help search systems interpret an offer; they do not establish that the selected variant reaches the cart correctly.

Use a small, repeatable check

After a catalog, theme or market change, compare the intended price, currency and availability with visible product information and any available structured data. For a representative cart check, record the selected variant before and after the transition and stop before submitting an order. Keep missing observations marked as unverified.

Choose the depth you need

ARC Commerce assesses a supplied storefront scope across six dimensions. ARC Verify adds comparison against the merchant’s supplied active catalog, issue grouping and representative pre-purchase handoffs for an eligible Shopify apparel or accessories store in AU or SG. Its full-catalog comparison does not mean every variant has been through checkout.

Close the specific discrepancy

Give the person fixing the store the variant identifier, conflicting fields and capture conditions. Repeat the same comparison after the correction. A cleaner report is evidence about that check; sales or conversion improvement needs its own measurement.
